Preston Drug

Medicare Part D 2011

Medicare review
October 15th to December 7th is the time to review Medicare Part D coverage. At Preston Drug we recommend:

  • Making a list of all your medications
  • Finding out what medications are available in generic now and ones that will be available later in the year (i.e. Plavix© and Lipitor©)
  • Checking with someone you trust to see which plan will be best for you (plans listed on medicare.gov)
  • Not assuming that what was good last year will be the best for this year. You may be mistaken if you do

If you have any questions we will be glad to help. Your best choice may be less expensive than the plan you currently have. We can help you avoid expensive travel and reduce concern from late delivery mail order medications.

Sincerely,
Craig Haslam and staff of Preston Drug

Responsible Drug Disposal

To avoid potential environmental impacts from improperly disposing medications we recommend:
  • DO NOT flush unused medications or pour them down the sink
  • Pour medications into a sealable plastic bag or container. If the medication is solid, add a small amount of water to help dissolve
  • Add kitty litter, sawdust, or coffee grounds
  • Seal the plastic bag or container and place in trash
  • Before recycling or trashing empty prescription bottles make sure to remove any personal information
